Chiropractic Treatment Modalities For Common Sources Of Knee Pain

If you have ever had a knee injury you understand how debilitating they can be. Knee pain has the ability to keep relatively healthy people from enjoying life the way they want, and it can even limit the choices of family units. Here at the Integrated Medical Group in Carlyle, we have compassion for those who experience chronic knee pain, and our chiropractic team is dedicated to helping our patients live a full and pain-free life. Here is some information about knee pain, and how our Chiropractor can help you alleviate it.

Evaluate And Seek The Source

One of the first things we do here in our office is complete a complete history and physical on our patients. We do this because we recognize the source of knee pain can be different for everyone. One person may experience knee pain due to an automobile accident. Another person could experience knee pain due to a disease process like diabetes, fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s Disease, arthritis or Polio. Whatever the cause of the pain, we want to be sure we ask the proper questions during your initial interview so that we can administer the proper treatments specific to your body and condition.

We Treat The Most Common Sources Of Knee Pain

Here in our Carlyle clinic, we treat some of the most common sources of knee pain. When a person comes to us with a dislocated knee which means that their knee socket has been forcibly jerked or pulled out of alignment, our chiropractor uses a combination of treatment modalities to help patients alleviate the source of their knee pain. Our doctor uses specialized adjustments to help place the joints back into alignment. In addition, hot or cold treatments may also be ordered in addition to electromagnetic therapy. Inflamed knee bursae is also a common source of knee pain. Bursae are the four fluid-filled sacs that are there to provide protection and cushion the joints of the knee. When these fluid-filled sacs become inflamed, the condition can be debilitating. This inflammation is called bursitis. Our doctor uses adjustments, ultrasound, and hot and cold therapies to alleviate the pressure caused by the edema or swelling. Alleviating the pressure reduces the pain. In addition to the treatment of these conditions, we also treat frozen knee syndrome, sprains and strains, tendinitis and people who experience pain due to a rotator cuff injury.
